This Privacy Policy explains how SpeakLegends (the “App”), a Spanish-learning app for iPhone and iPad, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data. The App is operated by Ansuz LTD (“SpeakLegends”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), the developer and seller of record on the Apple App Store. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version. We collect your email, name, and an account identifier so you can sign in and sync your learning progress. We record your in-app learning activity to run and improve the experience. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, we use no advertising identifiers, and we bundle no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. All data goes only to our own backend.

1. Who we are

SpeakLegends is published by Ansuz LTD, the data controller responsible for your personal data. The App is a native iOS application; its backend services are hosted on Cloudflare’s infrastructure and are operated solely by Ansuz LTD.

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data needed to run SpeakLegends. We do not collect your phone number, postal address, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, health data, browsing history, or any sensitive personal data. The table below lists every category of personal data the App collects and why.

Purchase history Your subscription and purchase status, obtained through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. To unlock premium features and restore purchases. We never see or store your payment card details — payment is handled entirely by Apple.
Learning activity Your in-app product interaction: lessons completed, answers marked correct or incorrect, streaks, screens viewed, and similar events. These records contain no contact details — only identifiers, counts, and flags. To run the learning experience, sync your progress, and — with your opt-in consent — tune lesson difficulty and notification timing.
Device token (push notifications) If you enable notifications, an Apple Push Notification service device token, along with your platform, app version, language, and time zone. To deliver SpeakLegends notifications to your device. The token is used only for this App’s notifications.

Audio and microphone

SpeakLegends does not record audio and does not request microphone access. Any speaking-practice screens you may see are interface previews; no audio is captured and no audio leaves your device. If a future version adds real speech features, we will update this policy and request the necessary permission before recording anything.

Analytics

Product analytics are opt-in and turned off by default. If you choose to enable analytics in Settings, we use your learning activity (described above) to improve lesson difficulty and notification timing. We use only our own first-party analytics — no third-party analytics SDK is bundled in the App.

3. How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Create your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
  • Save and sync your learning progress, streaks, and achievements across your devices.
  • Provide and personalise the learning experience, including adapting lessons to your level.
  • Process and validate subscriptions and restore past purchases.
  • Deliver push notifications you have opted in to receive.
  • With your opt-in consent, analyse usage to improve lessons and notification timing.
  • Keep the App secure, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Sharing & third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Apple — processes In-App Purchase payments and, if you use Sign in with Apple, authenticates you. Apple also operates Apple Push Notification service, which routes the notifications you opt in to receive.
  • Google — if you choose Sign in with Google, Google authenticates you and returns your email and name to us.
  • Infrastructure provider — our backend runs on Cloudflare’s hosting and content-delivery infrastructure, which processes data strictly on our instructions to store and serve your account data.
  • Legal & safety — we may disclose data if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
  • Business transfer — if Ansuz LTD is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not embed any third-party advertising or analytics software development kits (SDKs) in the App.

6. Tracking & advertising

SpeakLegends does not track you. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), we do not show ads, and we do not link your data with data from other companies’ apps or websites for advertising or measurement. Because we do not track you, the App does not display Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and you continue to use SpeakLegends. When you delete your account (see Section 9), we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for longer to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Backup copies are purged on our regular backup-rotation cycle.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Export a portable copy of your data.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time for analytics or notifications, without affecting prior processing.
  • Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal data — note that SpeakLegends does neither.
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.

To exercise any right, email support@speaklegends.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your SpeakLegends account — and the personal data associated with it — at any time from within the App, in Settings → Account → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by emailing support@speaklegends.com. Account deletion is permanent: your progress, streaks, and profile cannot be recovered. Subscription billing is managed by Apple — cancel an active subscription in your device’s App Store settings.

10. Data security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your data. All communication between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. Access to backend systems is restricted and monitored. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

11. Children’s privacy

SpeakLegends is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact support@speaklegends.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. International data transfers

Ansuz LTD and its infrastructure providers may process and store your data in countries other than the one in which you live. Where data is transferred out of the EU, UK, or other regions with data-transfer rules, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses — to ensure your data remains protected.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our practices, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Please review this page periodically.
